Edinburgh Day Nursery is based within the David Lloyd Club at Gyle Park, Glasgow Road. We offer a safe, loving and stimulating environment for children aged 3 months to 5 years. We also have a crèche facility for David Lloyd Club members, which is open Monday to Saturday. The nursery is ideally located close to the M8 motorway, city bypass, Haymarket railway station, Edinburgh airport, and 5 minutes from Edinburgh Business Park.

We have six spacious rooms that are fitted with furniture and equipment appropriate for each age group. Throughout the nursery we operate within the guidelines of the Key Person system, which ensures continuity of care and promotes positive relationships with both children and parents. Continuous provision and free-flow allows children to move freely around the indoor and outdoor environments.

Our quiet Baby Room provides a cosy, friendly and stimulating environment with activities designed to promote each individual babies’ development. Our Key Persons liaise with parents to understand their child’s routine and ensure that life at nursery closely mirrors life at home.

Our spacious and well equipped Toddler Room provides a stimulating environment for children to explore and investigate. There are plenty of opportunities to enhance children’s walking and balancing, language, creative, and emotional development through planned activities, play, and first hand experiences.

The Nursery Room is full of life and opportunities to learn, play and explore. The room is divided in to the areas of learning, offering a creative and messy play area, construction area, home corner, and a cosy book area. We also plan a wide selection of activities designed to meet children’s individual development needs.

We have three Pre-School Rooms that promote enthusiastic learning. Room one offers water and sand trays, role play, early writing, mathematics and science areas, a cosy story area, interest tables and a recycling centre. Room two gives children the opportunity to be creative at our art station, craft area, construction area, music area, and computer area. Room three is a smaller room that provides a calm and quiet environment for children to learn and develop their skills required prior to starting school. Here we offer another computer area, and early mathematics and writing areas. Children can flow freely through each of our rooms and the garden throughout the day.

A dedicated chef within the David Lloyd Club kitchen prepares our meals from Asquith’s renowned recipes. We serve a wide variety of hot and cold meals and cater for dietary requirements and preferences.

Our large, secure garden offers plenty of opportunities for physical development, exploration and fun with a climbing frame on a soft surface, a compost bin and water butts, and a planting area where children can plant and grow herbs, flowers, fruit and vegetables. We have access to the David Lloyd Club’s swimming pool and provide weekly swimming lessons for our children over three years old.
