Just like Peter Rabbit, at Asquith Nurseries we love our vegetables!
And this Spring, in conjunction with the Peter Rabbit™ Naturally Better eco-initiative, we have been learning to grow sunflowers and vegetables in our nursery gardens.
With some welcome advice and help from Peter Rabbit himself, our children will have enjoyed "growing their own". Having fun with gardening is a great outdoor play activity, and also supports our commitment to healthy eating.
To enter our nationwide competition, each nursery made an album of their gardening activities. This might include photographs of the children planting their seeds and seeing what grows, getting involved in any craft activities, looking after their Peter Rabbit toy (and recording any adventures he goes on!) and sticking in anything the children make.
Peter Rabbit™ Naturally Better is an initiative that Frederick Warne, the publisher of the Beatrix Potter books, launched last year. It's all about making sure that the books they publish and the Peter Rabbit products that they manufacture are as environmentally friendly as possible.
