Our Nursery Cook
"My name is Hazel Parkes and I have been working for Asquith for five years. Previously I worked as a Deputy Manager in a sheltered housing project for ten years. I then worked for the Bristol Royal Infirmary for three years as a supervisor and Chef. I achieved my Level 3 Food Hygiene with a merit and an NVQ in Hotel services. I enjoy serving meals to the children and love all the variety that I can offer.
Looking into the future, we are hoping to grow our own carrots, tomatoes, and other vegetables in the new garden. We are currently growing runner beans.
In my spare time, I enjoy fundraising in my local church and helping make cakes for events. At the moment I am making jams, marmalades and crafts for the Christmas fetes."

Testimonials about Bristol Day Nursery & Pre-School
Dear Mr Morris (CEO & Managing Director)
My son leaves Bristol Day Nursery this Wednesday after more than three years there. My daughter spent several years there before him. The fact that I am dreading the final pick-up speaks volumes. I am sure that you are already very well aware of what a fantastic team you have in place there but I wanted to write to reinforce that.
From the day that I first entrusted my daughter to the girls’ care, I have gone to work with complete peace of mind. Every day, both my children were greeted with a warm smile and open arms. Every day they were given help, encouragement, support, inspiration and time in abundance. There has been fun, laughter, learning (and a few tears thrown in!), all of which have undoubtedly given them the best start to life and built strong foundations for their next journey through school. My daughter made friendships which endure today (she is now going into Year 2) and she looks back at her nursery days with incredibly fond memories. I am in no doubt that my son will feel the same.
Although they have their naughty moments as all kids do, they have both blossomed into kind, polite, happy and friendly children. To a very large extent this is thanks to the hard work, dedication and patience of the fantastic girls/women you have working in Bristol. There are too many people to name them all individually but each and every girl/woman there is a credit to your business. From the efficiency and welcome of Rachel and Louise in the office; the delicious food prepared (originally) by Hazel, sometimes Jodie and now someone whose name I don’t know but whose cooking is ‘better than Mummy’s’; the friendly chats with Julie; the kindness of Rebecca in dropping “Gerald the Giraffe” (my sons favourite teddy) round to our house one Friday evening after he left him at nursery; the happiness Nicola gave by coming to his birthday party one Sunday afternoon; the generosity of Amy in making a toy dragon for his birthday; the sensitivity Christine & Nicola showed when he struggled with toilet training and the friendliness, enthusiasm & professionalism shown by every single member of staff - I cannot over emphasise what a special bunch of employees you have.
It is difficult to put into words how grateful my husband & I are for the years that both our children have enjoyed at Bristol Day Nursery. They are very lucky to have attended such a great nursery when so many of our friends tell horror stories of their own experiences elsewhere. THANK YOU.

We just want to say thanks to you all for what has been an amazing 4 years of childcare in Bristol for Olivia at Asquith! She has loved every second and wouldn't have become the child she is today without the help of you all! We wish you all the very best for the future.
