Barley Barn Enfield is an 80-place children's day nursery in Enfield based in a wonderful Victorian Grade 2 listed building in the Enfield Chase district of the London Borough of Enfield. The nursery is currently undergoing a stunning initial £310,000 refurbishment to its large rooms, creating a wonderful place to stay, play and grow.
It is very well situated next to the picturesque Hillyfields Park and is close to Enfield town centre along with the surrounding areas. It has easy access to both the A10 and the M25 as well as local railway stations.
This day nursery in Enfield is open for 52 weeks of the year and operates from 7.30am – 6.30pm Monday to Friday.
Our bright and homely day nursery offers childcare provision for children aged 3 months to 5 years in the Clay Hill and Lavender Hill areas of Enfield in North London.
In addition to the main building there is a self contained baby unit with seperate baby garden.
We are fortunate enough to have two further gardens which enable a wide range of fun activities to take place outside every day, allowing us to offer a broad outdoor curriculum.
Food is provided from our own on-site kitchen by our fully trained, dedicated chef. All meals and snacks are prepared daily using fresh, healthy and nutritionally balanced ingredients.
As well as having a secure car park, the nursery has a designated buggy storage area to enable parents to drop off and collect their children from the nursery as smoothly as possible.

The baby room at Barley Barn Enfield Day Nursery
Currently our bright and cosy baby room provides the perfect space and atmosphere for our youngest children to play and explore. It offers a variety of sensory experiences to aid with babies’ development, and has been refurbished with high quality wooden furniture and resources from childcare experts ‘Community Playthings’.
The cosy area helps the babies to feel safe and secure and staff build trusting relationships with parents and babies to help them with the settling in process and the transition from home.
We are in the process of building a self contained baby unit with private baby garden, allowing babies the chance to have easy access to outdoor play. The new baby unit is situated in an annex split across two floors with a dedicated sleeping area as well as a cosy and stimulating play area. The new unit's underfloor heating means the babies can comfortably play and explore at floor level.
The toddler room at Barley Barn Enfield Day Nursery
The spacious toddler room caters for 12 children. The dedicated and caring staff team plan fun and interest based activities, to support the individual needs of our young children. Clear defined learning areas will stimulate their growing curiosity with apparatus to encourage their growing physical skills.
It is currently undergoing a full refurbishment and the children will benefit from high quality wooden furniture and resources from childcare experts ‘Community Playthings’.
Other features, such as low, child size hand sinks within the room allows our toddlers to practice their independence and self-care skills from a young age. The children's independence is also encouraged through a self serve snack area, offering healthy fruit snacks and drinks throughout the day.
Our cosy sensory area allows children to explore and investigate in a safe and quiet space. Whilst the role play area encourages imaginative play and develops our toddler's understanding of the world.
Easy access to resources within the room allows children to take control of their own learning and make their own choices while staff members supervise and support them to reach their potential.

Our nursery room is currently undergoing a full refurbishment. The room is big, bright and spacious and caters for up to 19 children.
The children will benefit from high quality wooden furniture and resources from childcare experts ‘Community Playthings’.
Other features, such as low, child size hand sinks within the room allows our toddlers to practice their independence and self-care skills from a young age.
The room will contain a role play area, which develops children's imagination and understanding of the world. It offers many opportunities for the children to be creative, physical and imaginative.
Careful consideration has been taken in the design of the room to ensure it supports each area of learning and development according to the EYFS and allows the children to have their own interests and develop as individuals.

Our bright and spacious pre-school room benefits from two semi-separate playrooms. The room has recently been furnished with brand new and high quality “Community Play” furniture and resources and is designed to support our children in all different areas of learning.
Learning is embedded in children’s play and everyday routines and staff are always on hand to ensure the children get the most out of every learning opportunity.
Our pre-school team plans carefully for each individual child’s needs and endeavours to prepare them for school through fun and stimulating activities. The carefully planned environment offers many opportunities for the children to be creative, physical and imaginative.
The outdoor spaces at Barley Barn Enfield Day Nursery
We have 3 gardens at Barley Barn Enfield, including a seperate baby garden attached to the baby unit.
Our other gardens are for toddlers, nursery and pre-school and encourage active play, in a safe and stimulating environment.
Children can use the outdoor space to take on challenges and build their confidence in a secure environment, with the support of our staff.
The children can explore their art and design skills using natural outdoor resourses in our transient art section.
Our mud kitchen is a great way for children to explore messy play and use their imagination through role play.

Niyusha Alizadeh, Nursery Manager
Niyusha holds a Level 5 qualification and has been with Asquith since 2010. Niyusha recently joined Barley Barn Enfield having previously been the Assistant Manager at Asquith's Salcombe Day Nursery & Pre-School.
Loma Ansah, Assistant Manager
Loma is Level 3 qualified and has been at the nursery since 2011.
