Here at Slough Day Nursery just off Bath Road, we think of ourselves as a home from home. Our bespoke settling in period gives us the opportunity to become integrated within your child's world and work towards becoming one big Asquith family.
We also offer to visit you at home as part of this settling in period, which gives some less confident children the opportunity to build strong relationships with their Key Carer in the comfort of familiar surroundings.
The nursery is situated in a purpose built setting close to many businesses on the trading estate. We cater for many professional families and offer early drop-off and later pick up times to accommodate your morning commute.
As one of the leading nurseries in Slough we are well within the catchment of a number of local primary and infant schools, including Cippenham Infant, Cippenham Primary, Priory Primary, Our Lady of Peace Primary and Arbour Vale Primary, which is a specialist SEN school.
Our adventure garden is constantly evolving with the seasons and mirrors the children’s interests within the classroom. This includes a large climbing frame so children can explore different ways of moving, a 'mark-making' area with various writing tools and sizes of paper, a construction area with various sizes of bricks, soft foam bricks and connective balancing beams.
We will be delighted to welcome you to Slough day nursery. Our friendly, experienced and highly qualified staff are on hand to conduct a personal show round at a time to suit you. To book a show round, please call 01753 20 11 22 or
We look forward to the prospect of becoming part of your son or daughter’s journey through these early years and building firm foundations in their learning and key skills ready for their next steps at School.

The baby room at Slough Day Nursery
The baby room at our Slough Day Nursery is combined with the care of our toddlers, yet provides an environment where babies are able to explore their world in a soft, cosy, homely space. From tummy time on textured rugs with resources to excite and stimulate, to enjoying snuggles in our rocking chair with a key Carer, this warm, inviting space is the perfect starting point for your little treasure's learning journey.
The toddler room at Slough Day Nursery
Our toddler area is separated from the baby area via low-level partition promoting a smooth transition between rooms as the children are already familiar with the environment and the carers therein.
This bright, spacious room offers opportunities for physical challenges on our slide and 'toddle' boxes, to quiet contemplation in our reading tent. Our little explorers start to build on the sensory skills they have learnt in baby room as they take their messy play to new heights.
We love to share Nursery life with you via song of the week leaflets and activity packs in our lending library for you to try our activities out at home. This gives our little ones opportunities to share home learning stories or photographs from yourselves throughout their day.
The nursery room at Slough Day Nursery
Our Nursery room at Slough Day Nursery is a hive of activity and imagination. With lots of role play, building on the children’s knowledge of positive ideas around their communities and the wider world.
Self-registration and golden rule board develop independence and concepts such as sharing, turn-taking and problem-solving in what can be a challenging and emotional age for our nursery children.
Working on key skills in our smaller groups, the teachers are able to support children who are not as confident and find communication in larger groups a little daunting, enabling each child to become more confident and take part in activities that may have previously been outside their comfort zone.
The preschool room at Slough Day Nursery
The interactive smart board in our pre-school room at our nursery allows children the scope and opportunity to research and bring to life their ideas, interests and questions they may have.
The touch screen computer is loaded with interactive learning games linked to science, literacy and numeracy and allows for hands-on use in counting, sounding out letters, recognising differing emotions, how things grow etc. Giving a wealth of ICT experience ready for school.
The increased use of 'teacher time' with our teach time rules helps the children to prepare for school life making the transition as smooth as possible through the use of structured learning.
The children also have self-registration, pegs and trays with only their names so that they begin to recognise them, making it easier to identify it when it comes to their writing or to label their work when displaying it within the classroom.
The outdoor spaces at Slough Day Nursery
Our adventure garden is constantly evolving with the seasons and mirrors the children’s interests within the classroom.
This includes a large climbing frame so children can explore different ways of moving, a mark making area with various writing tools and sizes of paper, a construction area with various sizes of bricks, soft foam bricks and connective balancing beams.
There is also an interactive mathematics area with different learning opportunities to the indoor environment with games such as parking bikes in numbered bays, Jenga, skittles and pegging numbers up on a washing line to identify the order they go in.
We also have a communication area with talking tubes, a growing area with photographs of the children planting and pictures of what they are observing. In addition, a communication friendly space is underneath the tree house which becomes our reading area with blankets, books and cushions.
Children can explore different sounds on our music wall and use streamers and bells to explore movement. They can explore colour change on our creative wall with primary colours, weave fabric in and out of our threading wall to use words that develop writing skills, like ‘over’, ‘under’, ‘start’ and ‘stop’.
Our sand and water area offers buckets of resources for children to independently make choices for what they are going to use, it also has guttering so children can explore what floats and sinks and our log area has insect pictures and magnifying glasses so that children can hunt for bugs. Last but not least, our transient art area displays photographs of Andy Goldsworthy’s sculptures for inspiration of how to promote our creativity through natural resources.
The Baby and Toddler garden is also separate from the Nursery and Preschool garden, which offers similar learning opportunities. This is just our continuous provision, there is lots more on offer!

She joined the Asquith family in January 2014 and started her journey in our Baby and Toddler room as a nursery nurse, her expertise and knowledge quickly became evident and lead to her being appointed Preschool room supervisor just two months after joining us.

Bali Grewal, Chef
Bali brings 21 years childcare experience and 13 years catering experience including 3 years within childcare settings. She also has childcare qualifications to level 3 and is keen to start more studying.
Bali completed her NNEB level 3 at college and then began working as a Nanny for 2 years. She then went back into education and whilst studying supported independent food businesses in their kitchen as a Sous Chef. She then went onto supply teaching in nursery settings through an agency.
Bali’s next project was to purchase her own Fish and Chip Restaurant in 2006, which she sold on in 2012 so that she could spend more time with her family and get back into the childcare sector. Bali was then employed by a nursery that catered for 55 children, needing another challenge, she took on a 90 place Nursery with various dietary and cultural requirements.
Last but by no means least Bali decided it was time for something new and came to the Asquith family here at Slough Day Nursery in 2015, where she is enjoying getting back into further education with support from our Head of Catering & Nutrition.

We just wanted to say a huge THANK YOU!! For all the support kindness, time and attention you all gave our child during the time he has been at the nursery. If you recall we were concerned due to the many changes he has already experienced in his life. That concern quickly disappeared thanks to the warm and loving environment he attended. We are extremely happy with his progress and for the confident start he now has to start school Thank you.
Our 2nd family. Thank you for taking care of our daughter. You are like family to us and you have been instrumental in her growth and development. We are going to miss you so much. Thank you for your kindness, generosity and most importantly, friendship.
To the wonderful team at Slough Day Nursery. Thank you for everything over the last few years. Our lovely cheeky boy has developed so much and this is largely due to his time with you. He will miss you all terribly, but is excited for his new adventure at school. You all do a fantastic job and I wish you all the very best.
Thank you so much for taking such good care of our daughter over the last three years. I can’t believe how much she’s changed since those first settling in days and I can’t believe how quickly it’s gone. I’ve enjoyed our chats and will miss seeing you on a near daily basis! See you soon and thanks again.
Hello Team. I just wanted to thank the amazing team at Slough Day Nursery for organising the Father’s Day event. I had a terrific afternoon with all the children, staff and dads who came. It was great watching the kids tuck into their delicious tea right through to seeing which of the Daddy’s groups build the best tepee/hut. I didn’t expect to have so much fun and I am glad I came along and enjoyed my first Father's Day at Slough Day Nursery. Thanks guys.
