We have an amazing new adventure garden with its own Ark climbing frame, hobbit house, wobbly road and sensory area.
In total, we have three gardens: one for the babies and two larger spaces for the under and over three. Our gardens have a natural feel where children can experience first-hand grass, mud, bugs and even grow their own vegetables.
Our happy, friendly nursery is rated 'Outstanding' by Ofsted. We’re based in a purpose-built setting that was refurbished in 2011. The nursery is situated in the catchment areas of Loose Infant School and Tiger Primary School.
Choosing a nursery is a very important decision and it's crucial that you make the right choice for your child. The nursery complies with the Early Years Foundation Stage and our priority is meeting your child's individual needs and making sure they are well cared-for.
The nursery has a friendly atmosphere and is both fun for the children and reassuring for parents. Along with our eight weeks of free settling in, we also conduct home visits. This approach means we always see parents returning with little brothers and sisters.

The baby room at Maidstone Day Nursery & Pre-School
Our spacious baby room in our Maidstone children's day nursery has been arranged to present a calm yet stimulating environment. Neutral colours, wooden toys and wicker baskets help promote a more natural and relaxed feel to the room, where babies are nurtured by their key person.
A hideaway cube, baby shelf and browser box provide an interesting time for the babies along with open-ended resources and themed treasure baskets to develop your child's sensory experiences.
A separate sleep room means that babies can enjoy restful sleep away from the main nursery environment. We also have a garden where the babies can explore the natural environment, and the nearby farm means we often see sheep in the field outside.
Continuity and consistency is important for babies. Your key person will spend time getting to know you and your child, starting with a home visit. This enables us to maintain your child’s individual routine as it is at home.
The toddler room at Maidstone Day Nursery & Pre-School
In the nursery's toddler room, the children move freely around exploring many different types of play. For example, we have a messy area, role-play, music/movement and construction. Our indoor slide, toddle boxes and popular tricycles cater for more active toddlers with plenty of energy.
We place great emphasis on how our rooms are designed and our regular exploratory play sessions enable children to investigate bundles of natural materials, promoting sensory and open-ended play.
Although toddlers are very active it is important that they have a space where they can rest or share a story during their busy day. With this in mind, we have a specially partitioned area for quiet time.
The toddler room has direct access to the garden, and we supply waterproofs and wellingtons to allow children to explore outdoors. We use our triple buggies for weekly visits to the farm.
The nursery room at Maidstone Day Nursery & Pre-School
At our day nursery in Maidstone, the nursery room is arranged into different areas to support children's learning and development in all areas of the curriculum. For example, communication and language skills are fostered through our story corner and understanding of the world through our garden and small world area.
The children's self-help skills and growing independence are encouraged by low-level shelving, drinks stations, self-registration and supportive staff. They then develop the skills to pour their own drinks and serve themselves at meal times, with their key person on hand to assist where necessary.
Having a bathroom leading directly from the play room means that potty training is easier - as when it’s time to go, it’s time to go!
Children learn to co-operate with one another during meal times and active play. All our rooms have a quiet space to relax and this is well used in the nursery room.
Most children enjoy a nap on the snooze mats after lunch or some quiet time with their key person. The nursery room has direct access to the garden where they can investigate the natural environment.
The preschool room at Maidstone Day Nursery & Pre-School
The pre-school at our Maidstone children's day nursery is housed in a separate building and has been designed to enable children to follow their own interests and progress, and to help prepare them for school. We help develop the children's ICT skills through the use of our interactive smart board and touch-screen laptop.
These can be used independently or through guided activities. Children mark their attendance in the morning on the touch-screen and use emoticons to let us know how they are feeling.
A play-based curriculum with a balance of child and teacher-initiated experiences ensures broad and varied learning opportunities. Throughout the day, children spend time in small groups focusing on letters and sounds or collaborating together, sharing ideas and thoughts through our ‘thinking, talking floor books’.
The children also benefit from a dance teacher and computer lessons. Most of the day, children free-flow between the indoor and outdoor garden where there is a small wooden adventure playground, and the cosy nook is always available for children to rest.

Testimonials about Maidstone Day Nursery & Pre-School
With Remy starting Toddler Room today, I just wanted to drop a note to you with a word of thanks for Sophie for being such a wonderful key person to both my boys whilst in Baby Room.
I really appreciated the continuity in care having Sophie for both children. She is such a warm, gentle, calm and nurturing person but extraordinarily professional at the same time. It makes such a difference leaving your most precious things in the whole wide world to know that they’ll get the love, care, attention and stimulation they need, but also at the same time the developmental ‘stuff’ is being ‘watched’ and linked to the early years milestones and this is presented in their files in such an inviting and exciting way.
I can’t praise Sophie enough and the proof is really in the pudding as Remy (who is a bit of a mummy’s boy) would quite happily go to Sophie. I'm sure he'll be just as happy in his time in Toddler Room and I'm looking forward to it.

I am so delighted with the way in which Oliver has settled in at Maidstone Day Nursery & Pre-School. Although he only attends 1 day a week all the staff I have come into contact with know his name and make us both feel so welcome. Nichola, the Manager, is fantastic and has been so helpful and Louise, his key worker in the Baby Room is just lovely and Oliver is really starting to bond with her.
I have nothing but positive things to say about the nursery. Thank you very much for making Oliver so welcome.
