The toddler room at Milford Pre-School & Day Nursery
We have two toddler rooms at Milford Pre-School & Day Nursery. Toddler room one leads off the Baby room and helps children progress from being non-mobile to crawling. Toddler room one is only slightly bigger than the baby room and this helps with maintaining those routines from home.
Toddler room two is a slightly larger room than toddler room one with access to the outdoor area. The room progresses children from the crawling stage through to walking.
Within the rooms, there are the seven main areas of development. This includes physical development which is encouraged via an indoor slide and access to the garden. There is also lots of messy play activities in both the toddler rooms and so it is best to bring the children in nursery clothes!
At this age children start to develop their imaginative skills. The rooms have plenty of space to enable the children to move around freely as they start to walk and play. We provide all-in-one suits for the children so they are able to go outside in all weathers. The children can also enjoy a range of extracurricular activities. These include Boogie Mites music and movement each day, and Baking club on a Tuesday.

Our Nursery Cook
"I am the cook at Milford Pre-School & Day Nursery. I have worked here since October 2013 and I am enjoying working in a warm, welcoming setting.
I studied Hotel management and supervisory skill at Stafford college after leaving school. Once finishing college, I worked for the Hilton Hotel chain in Birmingham. My previous job role was working for Staffordshire County council as a Catering Manager for two schools. During this time, I also had my own successful cake stall company which I ran with my husband.
I have an eighteen-year-old son and have been married for three years. On my weekends and time off I enjoy baking and love to go on boating holidays and cruises."

We would like to thank all the staff for the excellent care that our son has received during his time at nursery. In particular, we would like to thank Sarah who showed an incredible level of understanding of our son’s character and needs. It is hard leaving your child in the care of others but knowing that he was being so well cared for by Sarah filled us with confidence. We too are sad that he is leaving the wonderful care and atmosphere of the nursery. It has always been a pleasure to drop him off in the morning and hear his tales of the day when he gets home in the evening. Once again please accept our thanks and gratitude for looking after our little boy. I’m sure every parent feels the same but he is a special treasure to us and you have kept him safe, happy and learning.
Simon and Helen, Parents, July 2016

Thanks for all your help and support over the years and big thanks also to Kayleigh who has always been there to reassure both me and Isla in times of need! Isla has thrived being at Milford and I'm grateful to all who have wiped her snotty nose, endured potty training tribulations and generally accepted her for the lovable rogue she is!
