The toddler room at Milford Pre-School & Day Nursery

We have two toddler rooms at Milford Pre-School & Day Nursery. Toddler room one leads off the Baby room and helps children progress from being non-mobile to crawling. Toddler room one is only slightly bigger than the baby room and this helps with maintaining those routines from home.

Toddler room two is a slightly larger room than toddler room one with access to the outdoor area. The room progresses children from the crawling stage through to walking.

Within the rooms, there are the seven main areas of development. This includes physical development which is encouraged via an indoor slide and access to the garden. There is also lots of messy play activities in both the toddler rooms and so it is best to bring the children in nursery clothes!

At this age children start to develop their imaginative skills. The rooms have plenty of space to enable the children to move around freely as they start to walk and play. We provide all-in-one suits for the children so they are able to go outside in all weathers. The children can also enjoy a range of extracurricular activities. These include Boogie Mites music and movement each day, and Baking club on a Tuesday.

Sarah, Parent, July 2016

We would like to thank all the staff for the excellent care that our son has received during his time at nursery. In particular, we would like to thank Sarah who showed an incredible level of understanding of our son’s character and needs. It is hard leaving your child in the care of others but knowing that he was being so well cared for by Sarah filled us with confidence. We too are sad that he is leaving the wonderful care and atmosphere of the nursery. It has always been a pleasure to drop him off in the morning and hear his tales of the day when he gets home in the evening. Once again please accept our thanks and gratitude for looking after our little boy. I’m sure every parent feels the same but he is a special treasure to us and you have kept him safe, happy and learning.
