Welcome to Reigate Pre-School & Day Nursery
For childcare in Reigate and nursery services in the Reigate area of Surrey
Reigate Day Nursery is an 'Outstanding' Ofsted rated children’s day nursery located just a short walk from Reigate Train station and in the close catchment of many schools, which include Holmesdale, Wray Common, Priory, St Josephs, St Marys, St Matthews and Micklefield.
We are open from 7.30 am to 6.30 pm, Monday to Friday, with an optional, chargeable early start at 7.00am.
Reigate Day Nursery uses the Early Years Foundation Stage to encourage your child’s development from the ages of 3 months to 5 years; each room focusing on different areas within this curriculum. From encouraging your child’s gross motor skills while beginning to take a few steps to supporting fine motor skills in shaping letters and beginning to write their own name.
Diversity is nurtured in every room by supporting languages of children who may have English as an additional language or dual language at home.
Independence at meal times is promoted in all rooms from 15 months and up by encouraging the use of cutlery at meal times, serving food onto a plate, cutting fruit and pouring water.
Reigate Day Nursery uses the key worker system to help your child build a bond with a familiar carer who will support them throughout the day. This ensures that every child’s individual needs and interests are catered for. The close bond with the keyworker means that they are best placed to document and encourage your child's development.
We will be delighted to welcome you to Reigate pre-school & day nursery. Our friendly, experienced and highly qualified staff are on hand to conduct a personal nursery tour at a time to suit you. To book a tour, please call 01753 20 11 22 or

The baby room at Reigate Pre-School & Day Nursery
Our baby unit, located on the top floor in our day nursery in Reigate provides a calm and loving environment. Each baby is unique, so through our settling in process we work with families to ensure that baby's home routine is followed at nursery.
We focus on the babies' senses and are very proud of all our sensory items and activities which re-enforce this. Our activities are varied and include lots of messy play and exploring. We like to bring the outside inside to give the babies varied experiences.
We regularly take the babies on walks to the local park and this gives them the opportunity to learn about their environment. The staff in the baby unit are caring and lots of fun, they provide exceptional care for all the babies and support individual needs and interests in everything they do.
The toddler room at Reigate Pre-School & Day Nursery
Our toddler rooms, located upstairs in our day nursery in Reigate, are where we continue the superb care with strong team members and relationships between staff, children and parents. In this room, we are particularly proud of the positive feedback we receive from families.
Our toddlers enjoy singing and dancing as part of their day and their imagination is stimulated through play and activities which the staff base around the child’s interests.
The children's gross motor skills are re-enforced with lots of outdoor play and varied experiences in the garden and on outings to feed the ducks.
Toddlers can enjoy time in the cosy corner looking at books and reading stories or creative activities such as big floor painting featuring hand and footprints.
The nursery room at Reigate Pre-School & Day Nursery
Our nursery rooms in Reigate children's day nursery are very unique.
Nursery 1 room is the larger of the two rooms and is located within the main building. Nursery 2 is the smaller, standalone room which is self-sufficient. Both enjoy easy access to the garden and free-flow play throughout the day.
The well-established team share ideas with newer members of staff to help expand their knowledge.
Nursery children also are given the opportunity to visit the pre-school room before they move up, creating friendships and getting to know their future environment.
As they progress within nursery they use Talking and Thinking books which express the child’s interests at home and nursery and give the opportunity for social interaction amongst staff, children and parents.
The preschool room at Reigate Pre-School & Day Nursery
In our pre-school room, the focus is on supporting the children to progress their development and a group focus is put on getting ready for school.
Preparation for going to school is part of the experience of our day nursery in Reigate, and we encourage independence and the partaking in activities such as lining up before and after garden time. Our Smartboard, listening station and computer in pre-school are used independently by the children.
The display boards in the room are all child-led and have been made and designed by the children - who relish in being given the freedom to have their say. We spend time listening to our children and taking their ideas and opinions on board.
The resources in the room include a woodwork bench where children can experience and be creative with real, child size tools.
Each day our highly experienced and long serving team focus on their key groups during circle time, teacher time and through the use of Talking and Thinking books.

Testimonials about Reigate Pre-School & Day Nursery
To the team in Toddlers, Thank you very much for all your help with our son, we have seen great changes in him as a result of your hard work.
Parent, February 2017
Thank you for looking after (and feeding!) our son so well. He has obviously been happy with you, and that means the world to us. He has come on a lot in the past couple of months and you can take credit for that.
Parent, February 2017
Dear Angela and all the team working at Asquith. Today is our daughter's last day with you and also the end of an era as for the first time since January 2011, we won't have either of our daughters with you. I couldn't have wished for a more secure, neat and healthy environment in which to leave my two precious babies. I appreciate the great food that you have introduced the girsl to and the wonderfully renovated outside area and the way in which you carefully record progress. We all wish you all the very best for the future and we'll miss you.
Parent, August 2016
My child has had such wonderful learning experiences over the past 2 years, as well as excellent members of staff who genuinely care. Thank you all so much helping her on her educational path.
Parent, June 2016
We wanted to congratulate you all on a brilliant Ofsted inspection. As parents, we do not need Ofsted to tell us that our child is happy, nurtured and is engaging in wonderful learning opportunities, but we recognise the importance it holds for you all. Well done on all of your hard work and efforts and for the recognition you deserve. Many thanks for everything you all do for our daughter and our family.
Parents, February 2016
Well done on your Outstanding Ofsted. What an achievement and recognition of all your hard work.
Parent - February 2016
Congratulations to all the team on the recent Outstanding Ofsted rating! You all deserve it.
Parent - February 2016
Congratulations and well done to all involved at Reigate in achieving Ofsted 'Outstanding', such fantastic news and so well deserved. This is a wonderful recognition of all your hard work on behalf of the children to ensure the best for their development and learning. This outcome is a reflection of the evidence I see every week in my own daughter's progress and growth in confidence.
